I have been an educator of adolescents for 25 years. I began as a college writing instructor; after earning graduate degrees in Literature and then in Teaching, I began my career in high school classrooms--as an English teacher and a college counselor. I enjoy helping guide adolescents toward their best selves, especially as they plan their next steps beyond high school. I have many years of experience helping a wide variety of students gain entrance to college, earn scholarships, and plan their lives beyond high school. I have worked with students who have enrolled in highly selective colleges, those who have applied to art schools and community colleges, students with learning differences, and students who have taken a gap year before heading to college. I have also worked with students who have made a conscious choice not to attend college. I'm all about helping students create options and presenting themselves in the best possible way.

Given my experience as a teacher of diverse learners, one area of expertise is working effectively with kids with autism, ADHD, or other learning differences. I have also designed an effective curriculum for teaching the essay for applications; this is another area of expertise. I work with students from all over the country but am based in Southern Vermont. I have been a teacher and advisor at The Compass School, The Greenwood School, Landmark College's HS Summer Program, and Leland and Gray Middle High School. I lead annual summer workshops on completing the college essay and the Common App. as well as parent workshops about the college application process. I trained at the "Independent Educational Consultant Association's Summer Training Institute" and I continue to travel to college campuses across the country.
